Let me ask you this…..are any of you working towards the same goal you had when you first started your business? How many of you are wanting to scale and get to that next stage in your business or achieve your next big goal?
Our visions and possibilities for our business have grown exponentially yet our natural instincts are to continue to do things in the same comfortable way we always have. We think that we can get to the next stage the same way we got to where we are today, but this is just not the case. We need to shift our perspective and open the door to the possibilities that can come when you bring on support in your business. We need to be doing things differently if we want different outcomes. In order to do this you are most definitely going to have to think about delegating tasks to your team or even if it’s one team member it doesn’t matter, but you need to get what’s in your brain out and off of your plate.
We need to think about delegation as passing off areas of responsibility and not passing off our to-do lists
When we think about handing off tasks and delegating areas of our business to someone else we need to think about this from the place of handing over complete ownership of a certain area in your company whether big or small. For example this could be handing off social media management in full VS getting someone to write captions and then schedule posts ( the latter are just tasks in the bigger picture) if you had someone handle social media as a whole you are then giving ownership of that area to someone who can take it and run with it.
With that responsibility comes a set of outcomes and expectations that can be put in place so your team knows what they are working towards, they as well as you can gauge their progress and know whether or not they have met expectations. It makes things so much easier to manage when you know you’ve removed something off your plate completely.
Stay tuned for the next post where we will get into the specifics of just how exactly you will delegate those responsibilities to your team through the P.I.E Method of Delegation.
